Congratulations to Victoria Rai, upcoming junior, for presenting at the Honors UROP Symposium! Victoria, also an M-STEM student, discussed her research with the Walter Lab in the Department of Chemistry. Her research focuses on transcriptional regulation of RNA and aims to regulate the process to combat diseases that occur due to errors during this stage of replication.
“My research is important because there is a lot of genetic disorders — I have one myself — and it’s hard to deal with sometimes,” she said. “It shows that we are growing as a science community, and the ability to grow the technology and have these advances to impact people’s lives as a researcher is really valuable to me.”
Once again, congratulations Victoria for appearing on the front cover of the Daily! The full article can be seen online here.
